Lynda Howard

On Thursday, January 26, 2022, Lynda Dianne Howard of Blakely, Ga., passed away peacefully in her home with her family.

Lynda was born on January 9, 1946, to Sara and Ted Tedder of Blakely, Ga. and had recently celebrated her 76th birthday with family and friends by her side.

Lynda, also known as “Lyn Lyn” to her family and friends, was a central figure of her community having been a Master Cosmetologist for over 50+ years and was an entrepreneur and business owner of her own salon for the majority of that time. Being a cosmetologist was not a career but her passion, which even after retiring she continued to provide that service to a few sweet ladies in the local nursing home. A few months before her passing, she would gather her portable oxygen tank, load up her walker on wheels with her “beauty supplies” and head to the nursing home with her reestablished clientele and it brought her so much joy.

She was a member of the Early County Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed contributing in any way which would support the betterment of her community and hometown with her open willingness to be there as needed.

Lynda was married to Mickey Howard on September 29, 1967 and enjoyed over 48 years of their life together as a married couple until his passing in 2015. She and Mickey, along with his parents, were also founding members of the Southside Baptist Church of Blakely.

Everyone who knew Lynda, knew of her love for the beach and she treasured each moment of time she spent on the sand and in the sun with her daughter, Necole and her grandson Cole. Cole would always tell her, “Lyn Lyn” let’s go make some new memories. Lynda was a cheerleader in high school and voted “Best Dancer” her Senior Year. She had a very competitive spirit having played softball for several years in her adult life with The Blakely TeamMates , which she along with Mickey and Sammy Cleveland created and they coached.

There was never a family member or friend, who were in need, that she didn’t help with a giving heart without expecting anything in return. Those who knew her best knew she could be counted on, and her work ethic exceeded expectations.

Lynda is survived by her daughter, Holly Necole Howard Ducati of Santa Rosa, Fla. and her grandson William “Cole” Ducati of Blakely, Ga. She is also survived by her sister, Ginger McNab of Glendale, Ariz., two brothers, Teddy Tedder of Blakely, Ga. and Nicky Tedder of Blakely, Ga.

Beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive “Aunt Lyn Lyn.”

Her memorial service was held on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church with visitation scheduled from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and a service following visitation. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her name to the American Heart Association and American Lung Association.
