Don Smith

Retired

Roy Donald Smith of Albany, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Smith was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Moultrie, Ga., to the late Rev. Marvin D. Smith and Ruby Grace Bruce Smith. He was a high school graduate and attended Andrew College in Cuthbert, Ga. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Procter & Gamble as an accounting technician. He was a member of Carnegie Baptist Church and attended Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Ann Smith of Albany; one son, Stephen Mark Smith of Shellman; three daughters, Pamelia S. “Pam” Matt and husband Joey of Tifton, Ga., Amanda Grace “Mandy” Smith of Leesburg, Ga., and Christine Foreman Clifton and husband Matthew of Moultrie, Ga.; three brothers, Dale Smith and wife Terri of Tampa, Fla., Dan “Buster” Smith and wife Debra of Cuthbert, Ga., and Dwain “Bo” Smith and wife Benita of Cuthbert; one sister, Nancy S. DeLoach of Toccoa, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Peyton Matt, Will Matt, Ben Matt, all of Tifton, Dylan Smith of Leesburg, and Lyla Kate Clifton, Reese Ann Clifton and Maggie Lee Clifton, all of Moultrie.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Carnegie Baptist Church. Rev. John Spencer officiated with Will Matt, Bill Douglas and Ronnie Ashley also speaking. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ben Matt, Will Matt, Joey Matt, Dylan Smith, Neal Smith and Matthew Clifton.

Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Smith, Kenny Payne, Danny Bridges, Mac McNair, Roger Lumpkin, Jack Lumpkin and Harold Andrews.

Lunsford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
