Reichard earns state award

Christian Reichard Christian Reichard The GISA State One Act Play competition was recently held in Vidalia, Ga., Nov. 14.

Christian Reichard, a senior at Southwest Georgia Academy, won an Outstanding Performance Award for his character, Andrew Marler, in the play Juvie. This was his first year participating in One Act Play.

When asked how he feels about winning the award, Christian said, “I’m very grateful to be a part of a production that can easily relate to the audience. I am very proud to have received this honor and be able to represent my school on a state level.”

Christian also participates in local plays at Cotton Hall and has been acting since 2012. Reichard is a Beta Club member and serves as HANDS Club Vice President.

Fellow cast member, Alexis Moore, also received recognition at the state competition. Moore received honorable mention for her role as Sunny. She has been a member of One Act for four years. Moore is a junior at SGA, a Senior Beta Club member and a member of the HANDS Club.
