Abraham Henderson

Abraham “Daddy Abe” Henderson, 65, of Claxton, Ga., died Aug. 19, 2018, at Select Special Hospital in Savannah, Ga.

Mr. Henderson was born Sept. 26, 1951, in Blakely, Ga., to the late Mack and Pecola Henderson. He devoted over 40 years of his life to the plumbing trade.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Lee Foster; two sisters, Corene Thompkins and Annie M. Addison; and one grandchild, Chrishawana.

Survivors include seven children, Abraham Henderson Jr., Tracy Bell Henderson, Antwan Henderson and DeAundra, Antoshia Henderson, Alona Bryant and Al, Alix Henderson and Latrika Gadson; five sisters, Jeannette Hamilton, Minne Joseph and Willie, Mae Pearl King, Mary L. Henderson and Annie H. Wright; seven brothers, Willie Sol Jr. and Neil, Joel Henderson and Maria, Donell L. Stewart, Johnny L. Henderson and Diana, Mack Henderson Jr. and Annie, Willie Henderson and Doretha, and Detrick Peoples; and a host of great grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was Saturday, Aug. 24, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Stapleton officiating. Interment followed at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
