Weathersby named PCC director

Weathersby Weathersby The Pataula Center for Children announced this week that Ginger Weathersby will be the center’s new director. The center serves children who are victims of abuse in all seven counties in the Pataula Judicial Circuit.

Weathersby, a native of Early County, is replacing Julia Houston who has served as the center’s director the past nine years.

Weathersby comes to the center with 30 years of experience in social services. Her strong background in serving children and families through the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services gives her a great perspective on the needs of the victims the center serves and how to enhance child abuse prevention efforts.

Houston started as a volunteer in 2001 and was hired as director in 2009. During her nine years as director, she helped expand the center from a month-to-month operation to an operation consisting of five part or full time employees.

Her countless hours devoted to serving victims in the seven-county area and providing prevention education has benefited everyone in these counties. She retired as director of the center July 31.

You can contact Weathersby at 723-2468 or earlycac@yahoo.com.
