Chamber Notes & News
Celia Bostwick
Chamber President

Many thanks to our Early County High Bobcats and Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors! You always make us proud!

If you missed our Social Media and Your Brand class, you missed a great opportunity to learn about the different tools of the trade. Erika Holmes, marketing director for Bank of Early and All South Banks, knows her stuff. If you missed it, don’t despair, she is coming back! Your Chamber is here to make you successful. Tell us what you need in every aspect of your business!

We want Christmas on the Square to be the best-ever because we are dedicating the event to Early County’s Bicentennial. Activities kick-off Friday night with retailers and restaurants participating in Moonlight Madness. The Bicentennial Christmas on the Square will set the tone for the holiday season Saturday, Dec. 1 with laughter, fun, food, entertainment and vendors — and, of course, the parade and Santa Clause.

We want every club, band, business, beauty queen, church, team, cheerleader squad, school and organization to participate!

Don’t forget First Thursdays kick-off Sept. 6. The kids can enjoy fun and games, including free ice cream, popsicles, corn hole games, races, etc. Great vendors with homemade items, face painting, stylish clothing and jewelry, jellies, jams, cakes, etc. Vendors — we need you!

We lost our line dance instructor due to a heavy workload this time of year. Any of you ladies ready to step-up and lead the class? We would like to get started by month’s end so that we can show-out at Christmas on the Square.

Don’t forget to get those family stories in by Sept. 14. Funny stories, serious stories, crazy family members — we want them all in our Bicentennial Homespun Heritage book. Email stories to info@blakelyearlycountychamber.org, send to Blakely-Early County Chamber, 214 Court Square, Blakely, GA 39823, or leave with Carol at the Chamber.

WE NEED YOU! Let’s all work together to make Blakely and Early County a great place to live. Call the Chamber at 723-3741 if you are interested in working to make our community a better place to live, work and raise families.

Have a great week and look for the best in others — and yourself. Go, You!
