The Arlington High School class of 1958 celebrated the 60th class reunion June 16, 2018, at the Arlington United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Everyone gathered at 11 a.m. for a wonderful lunch catered by Jerry Scarborough of Jerry’s Country Store. The dining hall was decorated in the school colors of blue and gold.

Chuck Cowart welcomed the group. Joe Sanders read the bible scripture and said a prayer. Everyone took part in honoring the deceased members by lighting candles and sharing remembrances of each. Pat Toole Newberry read a poem written by Ed Corley, in honor of his mother, Jeanette Taylor Corley. A poem written by Jeanette was read by Susan Gleaton Thompson. David Thornton read the class history and classmates shared updates on their lives and families. Janice Jordan Eubanks lead the group in singing the Alma Mater.

Janice Jones Peavy’s planning and hard work to make it happen was greatly appreciated by all.

Eight classmates plus spouses made eleven in attendance and a phone visit by Jeanette Hatcher.
