Charles Cox

Retired

Charles Edwin Cox, 76, passed away July 4, 2018, at Lifebrite Community Hospital in Blakely, Ga.

Mr. Cox was born Aug. 6, 1941, in Early County to the late James Cyril Cox and Gussie Byrd Brookins Cox. He was a retired truck driver for Southern Ag. Co., a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the Blakely Masonic Lodge.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Eugene Cox; and two brothers, Jimmy Randall Cox and Larry Alvin Cox.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Hart and Stephen of Newton, Ga.; six sons, Dalton Cox and Malisa of Ft. Gaines, Ga., Robert Cox and Teresa of Ft. Gaines, Alan Cox and Krystal of Edison, Ga., Jason Hatton and Kelly of Dothan, Ala., Derrick Cox and Windy of Dothan, and Chuck Barrentine and Paula of Brundidge, Ala.; a brother, Don Wayne Cox and Margo of Putney, Ga.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery with Dr. Michael Warren officiating.

Pallbearers were Russell Hart, Cory Hart, Shawn Cox, Andrew McKenna, Blake Glass, Grayson Cox, Dylan Hattan, Lane Wilson, Josh Roland and Chris Cox.

Manry-Jordan- Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
