Roy Burch

Retired

Roy Junior Burch of Colquitt, Ga., died Friday, May 18, 2018, at his residence.

Funeral services were Monday, May 21, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Johns and Rev. Cory Thomas officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites followed in the church cemetery with Jameson Burch, Spencer Burch, Ray Taylor, Zac Taylor, Sam Stinson, Jacob Stinson, Justin Stinson and Jaxon Gordon serving as pall bearers. Visitation was Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Colquitt Funeral Home from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m.

Mr. Burch was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, the Albany Hasan Temple and the Walter C. Dancer Lodge #115. He retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Mill after 33 years as a welder. While employed with Georgia Pacific, he received 13 certifications in welding techniques which included SMAW, GMAW/MIG, FCAW, AND GTAW/TIG in welding processes.

Survivors include two sons, James Burch and Lisa of Blakely, Ga., and Patrick Burch and Kathy of Donalsonville, Ga.; three daughters, Susan Stinson and Sterling of Colquitt, Ga., Amy Taylor and Bruce Taylor of Blakely, Ga., and Becky Gordon and Thomas of Colquitt, Ga.; ten grandchildren, Leanna Perryman and Tyler, Jameson Burch and Bethany, Spencer Burch, Justin Stinson, Sam Stinson and Kaylee, Jacob Stinson, Ray Taylor and Julia, Zac Taylor and Amber, Rachel Burch, and Jaxon Gordon; 10 greatgrandchildren; one sister, Linda Burch of Wewahitchka, Fla.; and one niece, Bobbie Jo Voyles and Danny; and one great niece Gabby Voyles. Mr. Burch was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Burch.

Colquitt Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
