The Early Birds of Early County Elementary School have had an exciting year with two festivals and a musical production. In the fall they participated in an annual choral festival held in Dothan at the Cultural Arts Center.

The Early Birds received “Superior” ratings this year and was the only elementary group — choral or show choir — to participate. That award is given by the festival director and judges to the group who best exemplifies overall the atmosphere of the event through their performance and stage conduct. The Early Birds have won that same award twice in the four years they have participated, 2014 and 2016, receiving superior ratings all four years.

The Early Birds presented a production of Disney’s Aladdin as well as recently participated in the Southern Star Music Festival at Six Flags in Atlanta. They received a Silver award for their outstanding performance. The Early Birds perform under the direction of Mrs. Sharon Hunt.
