Honors Day at SGA

Southwest Georgia Academy will hold its annual Honors Day assembly Tuesday, May 1. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Joe Bryan Auditorium. Special presentations and scholarships will be announced first. Then departmental awards will be made.

Students averaging 90 or above in each subject will be recognized and outstanding students will be named. The Honor Roll list will be read and the student with the highest grade average in each grade will be announced. Class presidents and student council officers will be recognized for their leadership.

Yearbook and newspaper editors will be commended for their work during the year. Those students who have earned an Academic Letter for their year’s work will be announced.

Grades six through 12 will be in attendance and family members are invited to come as well. Those students who are recognized will be honored at a special breakfast the morning of May 2 in the SGA Cafeteria.

Grades K-5 through fifth grade will be recognized at a separate Honors Day program May 14. Parents are invited to attend that special program. A reception will be held for those honorees.
