K-9 Mocha sniffs out drugs first day on duty


Jordan Wright Jordan Wright Deputy Rollins Davis and K-9 partner “Mocha” recently made a drug arrest and seizure on their first day on duty working as a team.

An April 2 traffic stop led to the K-9 search which resulted in the recovery of approximately eight ounces of packaged marijuana. Also found was a quantity of concentrated THC oil, sometimes called Honey Butane Oil, “Shatter” or “Dab.”

Jordan Wright, 19, of Havana, Fla., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance - marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance for the THC oil.

Wright is currently being held in the Early County Jail under bonds totaling $5,000. The Sheriff’s Office has also begun the forfeiture process to seize the vehicle driven by Wright and a quantity of cash found during the arrest.

Tip leads to drug arrest


Randy Davis Randy Davis Sheriff’s investigators discovered a quantity of crack cocaine and pain medication packaged for sale during the Mar. 29 execution of a search warrant on North Church St. in response to information received of illegal drug sales.

Investigators arrested Randy Davis, 56, of Blakely for possession of a controlled substance - cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled substance - hydrocodone with intent to distribute.

Davis has prior convictions for cocaine possession and is currently being held in the Early County jail on the new charges in addition to violation of probation. The Dept. of Community Supervision assisted the Sheriff’s Office with the search.
