Weston C. Lee Park Progress

The City of Bluffton continues renovations to the city park, now named the Weston C. Lee Veterans Memorial Park.

New playground and workout equipment was erected in January. A marker and flagpole were installed at the park entrance in March.

Also, installation of two benches and a picnic table was made possible by a $1,000 Golden Triangle Improvement Grant.

Final phase improvements planned for 2018 include installation of a pole barn and concrete pad, a new line of fence across the rear of the playground, park signage and landscaping.

The City of Bluffton issued a proclamation in May 2017 to name the city park the Weston C. Lee Veterans Memorial Park, in honor of 1Lt. Lee, who was killed in action April 29, 2017, in Mosul, Iraq, and in memory of all the Veterans of our community past, present and future.

The park committee and city council sincerely appreciate those who have supported this project. Donations are being accepted for the final phase improvements and as park maintenance. Donations are tax-deductible and can be mailed to City of Bluffton, P.O. Box 55, Bluffton, Ga. 39824 (memo: WCL Park).
