Copp completes POST certification training

Georgia law enforcement officers are required to earn certification through the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council.

The 11-week certification training consists 408 hours of rigorous training, including classroom lecture, practical skills sessions, driving and firearms training.

Copp was presented his POST certificate during a graduation service March 23 by his uncle, ECHS 1989 graduate Major Buster Cushing, Field Operations Commander of Cherokee County’s Sheriff's Office in Canton, Ga.

He is married to Emily Davis Copp and is the father of Brooklyn, Hudson and Nash.
