Saturday’s fun began with a bang!

Following months of planning and hardwork, the fun began Saturday morning with the 10th annual 5K and Fun Run on Court Square. A number of the Fun Run participants were not born when the first races were run in 2009. By every indicator — parking, parade route crowds, vendor excitement, concert crowds, etc. — Saturday’s crowd was by far the largest to enjoy the Peanut Proud activities and entertainment, with some estimating nearly 15,000 helped make it a great day! A resolution adopted by the Georgia House of Representatives and presented at Saturday’s festival commending Peanut Proud, stated in part... “the Peanut Proud Festival has grown from a celebration of the peanut industry to a humanitarian effort” and “now in its tenth year, the Peanut Proud Festival has over 80 sponsors and over 150 volunteers.” Following months of planning and hardwork, the fun began Saturday morning with the 10th annual 5K and Fun Run on Court Square.
