Homelessness meeting Wednesday, Feb. 7

Family Connection will host a meeting Feb. 7 at 1:15 p.m. to raise awareness of the community’s growing homeless population and discuss how the community can help people in need become self-sufficient and productive. The meeting will be at the Family Connection building located on the ABAC campus in Blakely.

“We are becoming more and more aware of a growing homeless population in our community,” Wilson told the News. “Not only are people having to double up with other family members, our local hotels are full of families who have nowhere else to go.”

“We need your help! Our community has very limited resources and we need to work together and collaborate to make the most of those resources. Hopefully, we will be able to brainstorm possible solutions, processes and ways to help our homeless.”

Everyone is asked to make every effort to attend. For more information, call 723-5122.
