2018 race will help kickoff Early County Bicentennial

The New Year is here and what better time to resolve to get in shape and better enjoy all the Bicentennial activities planned for 2018.

First in line is the Jan. 20 Dr. James H. Crowdis Run and Walk at the First United Methodist Church.

Participants can choose to run — or walk — the 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles). Both start at 9:15 a.m.

Entry fee with a t-shirt is $20 and $12 without a shirt. Race day fees will increase $5.

All finishers — runners and walkers — will receive a medal. Trophies will be awarded to the fastest in age groups all the way from 10 & under to 85 & over.

Sponsors for the event are Bank of Early, Grist Oil, The 4th Out, Piggly Wiggly, and LifeBrite Community Hospital. Entry forms are available at these locations and also at the Blakely Fitness Center and the Early County Museum.

Entry forms may be mailed or registration may be completed online at www.crowdisrun.weebly.com. For additional information go online or call 229-723-5070.
