Volume Two

It has been over 30 years since Tige Pickle’s final “This Week” column appeared in the Early County News. It was six years later when this community laid its “favorite son” to rest. Both milestones were sad events for the Early County News and the community.

“The Best of Tige Pickle,” edited by Tony Gilbert, released in 2012, chronicled happenings in the community from 1937 to 1945 through Tige’s eyes. Volume Two, being released this week by Tony, chronicles Tige’s commentary about our community spanning the years 1946 -1958.

Both of these books, along with following volumes, belong on the bookshelf of everyone who loves Early County — along side “I Can Go Home Again” and the Historical Society’s Collections of Early County.

The books are available at the Early County Museum on North Main Street and online at Amazon. For more information call Tony Gilbert at 229-723-5070.
