Bera Collins

Bera Kate Gay Collins, 82, of Marietta, Ga., passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2017.

Mrs. Collins was born in Blakely, Ga., Oct. 12, 1935. Bera graduated from Central High School in Jackson, Miss. She was married to Edward Collins for 39 years. Bera had a career in real estate for Century 21. She was a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church and had a passion for her family, sewing and Curves.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou Kate Spence Gay, and George Washington Gay; husband, Edward Collins; five brothers, Spence Gay, Edmund Gay, Larkin Gay, Joel Gay, Clifford Gay; and three sisters, Callie Gilbert, Pauline Hewgley and Emma Scorsone.

Survivors include her children, Telese Fields, Michael Collins and Norman Collins; six grandchildren, Troy Fields, Grayson Fields, Michael Collins, Mary Katherine Collins, Alan Collins, and Matt Collins; great-grandchild, Kate Fields; one sister, Mary Westmoreland; and one brother, Lane Gay.

A graveside service will be conducted at Blakely Cemetery in Blakely, Ga., on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at 12:30 p.m.
