Maxine Rabney

Maxine Ruby Rabney, 79, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Rabney was born March 19, 1938, in Blakely, Ga. She was a real estate broker in Florida since 1969 until moving to North Carolina. Mrs. Rabney’s career encompassed both commercial and residential real estate. She was vice president of three large companies. Mrs. Rabney was the founding member of the Governors Club in Tallahassee, Fla., and also a member of the National Board of Realtors for over 50 years. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and “Mema.”

Mrs. Rabney is preceded in death by her parents, Jim Mack and Ollie Jones; two brothers, Jim Mack Jones Jr. and Thomas Jones; and sister, Willie Jones Moore.

Mrs. Rabney is survived by her husband of 36 years, Alec Rabney; son, Donnie Taliaferro and Debi; step-son, Steven Rabney and Kathy Huff; daughter, Tammy Taliaferro Galloway; grandchildren, Garrett Galloway and Kira, Dr. Tiffany Persons and Chris; great- grandchildren, Clarra Ruby Galloway, Amelia Jade Galloway, Calvin Rabney, Devin Taliaferro, Jordan Taliaferro.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields.
