Honoring All Who Served!

A Veterans Day Celebration and outdoor Gospel Music Festival will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Blakely First Assembly of God on the MLK Bypass in Blakely. The gospel music program will begin at 3:30 p.m. featuring the Blakely Mass Choir, Jackie Hill & The Blue Shades of Grass and Glorybound of Tallahassee, Fla., Swiftwater of Marianna, Fla., and Jordan’s River of Dublin, Ga., and special guest appearances by Answered Prayers of Birmingham, Ala. and Donna Kelley of Baton Rouge, La.

There will be a special musical recognition of veterans at 5:45 p.m.

Blakely FUMC Annual Veterans Day Program: Everyone is invited to the patriotic services and music which will begin at 10:55 a.m. A complimentary BBQ lunch will be held in the fellowship hall following the service.

ECHS JROTC to honor Veterans: The Early County High JROTC will be hosting their annual Veterans Day program Friday Nov. 10. Breakfast will be served 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. The program will begin in the auditorium at 10 a.m. Contact CW2 Marion Jones at 723-3006 for more information.

SGA to recognize Veterans: Southwest Georgia Academy will recognize veterans with a special program and lunch Nov. 10. All veterans and spouses are invited! Guest speakers will include Senator Freddie Powell Sims and Reverend Kermit Soileau. The program will begin at 10:30 in the auditorium. Coffee and doughnuts will be served at 10 a.m.

Pataula Charter Academy Veterans program: Pataula Charter Academy will recognize local veterans with a Veteran’s Day program honoring all of America’s veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Forces Friday, Nov. 10 at 9:30 a.m. Area veterans and spouses are invited to a reception at 8:30 a.m. The program will follow at 9:30 a.m.
