Bobcats lose to Fitzgerald 44-0

The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane blanked the Bobcats 44-0 Friday night in Fitzgerald in the Cats’ final region game. The Bobcats are 2-7 on the season and 0-4 in region play.

The Bobcats will host the Dothan Tigers Friday night at Standifer Field. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.

The Bobcats, who have lost six seniors during the season, were again plagued by turnovers with three interceptions and a fumble.

The Hurricane defense held the Bobcats to 150 yards total offense, 104 yards rushing and 46 passing. Junior Escondarious Pinkney was the leading rusher with 30 yards on 15 carries.

The defense was led by Jontavious Johnson with four solo tackles and Jarod Holmes with three solos. James Gilbert, Chrishaud Alexander and Jamal Washington each had two solos each.
