Two arrested on drug charges

Sheriff’s Investigators received information Thursday, Oct. 12 that Montrelle Toussaint was in possession of marijuana and was making street level sales of marijuana.

Toussaint was located on Lancelot St. by investigators, shortly after receiving the tip. When approached, Toussaint took off running. He was apprehended on Branch St. a short time later.

Investigators recovered several bags of marijuana from the area where Toussaint was arrested as well as packaging material and money still in his pockets.

Toussaint, 24, was taken to the Early County Jail and warrants were issued for obstruction of an officer and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Sheriff ’s authorities served a search warrant Friday, Oct. 13 at 1217 Old Columbia Rd. Investigators had been receiving information the past several weeks about suspected illegal drug activity and sales at that location.

An investigation was launched, culminating in the execution of the search warrant.

During the search, a quantity of methamphetamine and packaging materials were seized. Crystal Jackson, 32, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute and booked into the Early County Jail.
