Bobcats defeat Worth County Rams 36-4

The Bobcats defeated the Worth County Rams 36-4 Friday night at Standifer Field, improving their record to 3-1.

The Bobcats took a 7- 0 lead in the first quarter driving 70 yards in nine plays. Dontravious Lee capped the drive with a three-yard run. Alex Warr kicked the PAT.

The Rams backed the Bobcats deep in their own territory with a punt and tackled a Bobcat ball carrier in the end zone for a safety to make the score 7-2.

But, Quentavius Sparks raced 35 yards for a touchdown and Warr’s PAT gave the Cats a 14-2 lead.

The Bobcats added to their lead in the second quarter, driving 83 yards on 12 plays. Quarterback Kevin George completed a four-yard pass to Sparks for the touchdown. Keandra Eaford threw a pass to Tate Norman for a two-point conversion and a 22-2 lead.

In the third quarter La’darius Ceasar blocked a Ram punt and recovered the ball in the endzone. Warr’s PAT gave the Cats a 29-2 lead.

The Rams added two points in the third quarter when they tackled punter Luke Jester in the end zone for a safety.

The Bobcats added a fourth quarter touchdown when George completed a 16-yard touchdown pass to Raekwon McNair. Warr’s PAT made the score 36-4.

The Bobcat defense held the Rams to 57 yards rushing and 142 yards of total offense. The defense was led by La'darius Ceasar with the blocked punt for a touchdown, Jarod Holmes with three solo tackles, Jontavious Johnson and Jarod Holmes with two solos and Jamal Washington with an interception.

The Bobcats had 318 yards of offense, 218 rushing. The rushing leader was La’darius Ceasar with 62 yards on seven carries followed by Dontravious Lee with 53 yards on 14 carries. Kevin George completed six passes for 95 yards.

The Bobcats will travel to Bainbridge Friday night to play the 2-1 Bearcats. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
