Tom Riley

Barber

Tom Riley, 85, of Blakely, Ga., passed away suddenly Friday evening, Sept. 8, 2017, at his residence.

Mr. Riley was born Aug., 14, 1932, to the late William Mason Riley and Ollie Mae Golden Riley. He was owner/operator of Tom’s Barber Shop for 50 plus years. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tom Randall Riley; one sister, Dixie Samson; and three brothers, Red, Rudolph and Eldridge Riley.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Jean Ellis Riley; one daughter, Deb Riley Posey of Colquitt, Ga., one son, Eddie Riley and Sharon of Blakely, Ga.; two sisters, Pat Griffin of Cairo, Ga., and Shirley Storch, of Augusta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Shanna Harrell and husband Keith, of Savannah, Ga., Tamra DeVane and husband Chuck, of Marietta, Ga., Randy Lashley, BJ Oliver and husband Jeremy, and Zane Riley, all of Blakely, Ga., Kyle Riley of Atlanta, Ga.; and 10 great-grandchildren

His funeral will be held at Beulah Baptist Church, Cedar Springs, Ga., Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Hovey and Dr. Boyd Evans officiating.

A visitation was held Tuesday night from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blakely Cemetery with active pallbearers Randy Lashley, Zane and Kyle Riley, Keith Harrell, Chuck DeVane and Jeremy Oliver.

Honorary pallbearers are Martin Evans, McDonald's Breakfast Crew.

Manry-Jordan- Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
