Vol. IV: Early County history you didn’t know!

The Historical Society has released Volume IV of “Collections of Early County Historical Society.”

The book is dedicated to the memory of Mary Dunbar Grist Whitehead. “Throughout her life, Mary championed the stories of Early County and its citizens, and worked tirelessly to see those stories preserved for generations to come.”

Volume IV’s 522 pages include reprints of a number of hard to find historical writings and much more.

The first volume of the Historical Society’s Collections of Early County’s history was published in 1971. Volume 2 was published eight years later in 1979. It was 23 years before Volume III would go to press in 2002. It took another 15 years for Volume IV to go to press.

Over 2,500 pages of the four volumes represent a monumental effort on the part of a number of dedicated citizens whose efforts, like the history in the books, will not be forgotten.

Volume IV sells for $40 and will be available at the celebration and by mail for $48. Send mail orders to the Historical Society at P.O. Box 564, Blakely, Ga. 39823.
