Spring cleaning April 22 at Kolomoki State Park
It’s that time again: spring cleaning time, when we sweep out the winter cobwebs, rinse off the pollen and get ready for summer fun. Saturday, April 22 is Spring Volunteer Day at Kolomoki and extra hands really make a difference as we wash boats, clean hiking trails and tidy up the campground. Everyone is invited to pitch in for an hour or two, between 10:00 AM – 12 noon. Meet at the Visitor Center to check in and pick a project. Wear closed-toe shoes and a hat and bring a water bottle and work gloves.
The Friends of Kolomoki receives some funding from the State of Georgia based on volunteer hours that we log each month. The funds enable us to provide more programming and contribute to upkeep and enhancements at the Park. So, giving of your time has a double benefit. And if you are a student in need of community service hours, volunteering with Friends of Kolomoki counts toward your goal.
Friends of Kolomoki is the local chapter of Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the state’s natural and historic treasures. We work throughout the year to present special events and support programs and activities at the Park. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the Park office at 229-724-2150.
