Special opportunity turkey season for youth and mobility-impaired hunters
Turkey season opens March 25. however, youth and mobility impaired hunters utilizing private land will have the opportunity to harvest turkey during a special early turkey season on March 18-19.
“What a fantastic opportunity for two deserving groups to get a chance to get in the woods before the season opens statewide the following weekend,” said John Bowers, chief of WRD Game Management.
The early hunt is available only for youth 16 and younger or mobility impaired hunters. Youth hunters must be accompanied by an adult who may call, but may not take or attempt to take a turkey.
All turkey hunters must obtain a free harvest record each season. More information is available at www.georgiawildlife.com/Harvest RecordGeorgiaGameCheck.
