Grimsley, Houston are Mr. and Miss SGA


Rawls Grimsley and Lily Houston Rawls Grimsley and Lily Houston Rawls Grimsley and Lily Houston have been chosen Mr. and Miss SGA at Southwest Georgia Academy.

Mr. and Miss SGA are chosen as the male and female of the senior class that receives the most votes school-wide. This ensures that the two students selected as the best representatives of SGA, morally and academically, are not just selected by the student body.

Lily works hard in all of her classes. She served as class treasurer three years and is involved in several school activities including cheerleading, Student Council, oneact play and literary.

When asked about receiving this honor, Lily said, “I am so honored to have been voted Miss SGA by my classmates and teachers. I am delighted that they think so highly of me.”

Rawls also has an impressive resume. Rawls credits the Christian values that his parents instilled in him from a young age to his high school success.

He has had the honor of serving in several prestigious positions throughout the past four years. He is Student Council president and a founder of the Chapel Band. He strives to use these positions to be a good role model for younger students at SGA.

When asked about becoming Mr. SGA Rawls said, “I’ve always been taught to treat others with the same respect that I would want to be treated, and show them the love Christ showed us. I cannot express how truly thankful I am to receive the honor of being named Mr. SGA. It’s such a blessing and great way to end my senior year.”
