Aline Starr

Aline Williams Starr, 90, of Blakely, Ga., died Sunday, May 22, 2016, in Early Memorial Nursing Home.

Mrs. Starr was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Blakely to the late James Dexter “Deck” Williams and Ruby White Williams. She and her late husband, Clifford Joel Starr Sr., were owners of Starr Grocery Store. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church and a graduate of the old Blakely Union School, Class of 1943.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Josh Starr; and one greatgranddaughter, Maddie Jones.

Survivors include two sons, Cliff Starr and wife Angela of Blakely; Scott Starr and wife Sharon of Cairo, Ga.; one daughter, Karen Everson and husband Jimmy of Blakely; and six grandchildren, Mark Starr, Adam Starr, Ashley Jones, Lacey Norman, Kyle Everson and Megan Holton; and 13 great- grandchildren. The family wants to thank a special caregiver, Margaret Smith.

The family will have a visitation today, Wednesday, May 25 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A private, family only graveside service will be held before the funeral service.

Funeral services will be at Westview United Methodist Church Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Adam Starr and Rev. Jonathan Fuller officiating.

Pallbearers will be Billy Killebrew, Jacky Bruner, Starrlyn Bruner, Curt Smith, Danny McGriff, Mark Starr, Bob Daley and Wayne Foster.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Wright, Joey Freeman, Smiley Bush, John Brown, Perry Jarrett and Gary Clinkscales.

Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
