Crozier new Economic Development Director

Blakely native James R. “Jamey” Crozier has been named to the position of Economic Development Director with the Early County Development authority.

Through an effort that began last year, the city, county and development authority worked together to develop an agreement which, in part, provides for “...various economic development services and activities, including the funding of the Authority’s Economic Development Director staff position and various costs related thereto and related to the operation of the Authority...”

The position was advertised last October and several applications were received. However, the agreement providing for the position was not adopted by the city, county and development authority until last week.

After a brief tenure as Clay County administrator, Crozier returned to Blakely last August, joining the staff at Bank of Early.

Prior to the Clay County position, he served as deputy director/ ag advisor for six years with Congressman Sanford Bishop.

Crozier is married to Dr. Crystal J. Crozier with two sons, Mac, 4, and Mason, 2. He is the son of Don and the late Joy Crozier of Blakely and a 1996 graduate of ECHS.

He attended Valdosta State University where he earned degrees in environmental geography and geology, and earned a master of public administration degree from Albany State in 2007.
