Charity golf tournament set

The Macy Easom Cancer Research Foundation, a nonprofit pediatric cancer foundation headquartered in Perry, Ga., will host the second Annual Princess Macy Golf Tournament Saturday, Dec. 7 at Crooked Oak Golf Course in Colquitt, Ga.

The golf tournament is a two-person scramble and begins with a shotgun start at noon. Each par 3 will be played in honor or in memory of a child battling pediatric cancer. Five flights will be based on a 40-team field and determined by handicaps. A cash prize will be awarded to the top three in each flight.

Entry fee for the tournament is $150 per team and includes 18 holes, one mulligan and one extra shot at each par 3. All proceeds for the event benefit Macy Easom Cancer Research Foundation.

The Macy Easom Cancer Research Foundation was established in memory of Macy Easom, a fouryear old girl diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare form of pediatric liver cancer, who passed away at the age of five. The foundation’s mission is to provide funding to enable research devoted to finding a cure and treatment for hepatoblastoma and other pediatric cancers while promoting public awareness.

Lisa Easom Howard, board member of the foundation, says the foundation is excited for another successful golf tournament at Crooked Oak Golf Course.

“We are so thankful to be able to host another Princess Macy Golf Tournament in Colquitt,” says Howard. “We had a wonderful turnout last year and we are blessed to have such amazing community support.”
