Randolph County to host fundraiser kick-off

The Randolph County Welcome Center and Historic Courthouse Fundraiser Kickoff will be Thursday, Aug. 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Approximately $500,000 is needed to finish the renovation for the new Welcome Center including heating/air conditioning system, the elevator, interior furnishings and landscaping.

T-shirts, notecards and prints, all featuring a sketch of the Randolph County Welcome Center and Historic Courthouse, will be sold.

There will be door prizes, including a Madame Alexander doll. Tours of the building will be available.

There will be a short program featuring State Representative Gerald Greene, Randolph County Historian Karan Pittman, who will discuss the heritage of the building, and Glenda Bates, who will outline giving opportunities.
