Two arrested in Arlington


Nicholas Whiddon Nicholas Whiddon A search of a residence outside Arlington earlier this month resulted in the recovery of several firearms stolen from a Colquitt business in a 2009 burglary and property reported stolen during a Clay County burglary.

The search led to the arrest of Nicholas Whiddon who was charged with six felony counts and one misdemeanor count of theft by receiving stolen property.

Also arrested was was Melvin Kimbrel who was charged with one count of possession of a sawed off shotgun.

“The victims of the theft cases being able to provide serial numbers for their stolen property was vital in our being able to make these arrests and recover their property,” captain Will Caudill told the News. “We thank the Colquitt police department for their assistance in the investigation and search of the residence.”
