Daniel Staib

Retired

Daniel Walter Staib, 85, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Staib was born March 7, 1926, in New York, N.Y., to the late William Staib and Eva Elizabeth Cameron Staib. He was retired from Linden Industries, Lindenhurst, N.Y. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a fourth degree knight and he served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunnery Sgt. and served in World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Delia Flannery Staib of Bluffton; one son, Daniel Staib and wife Ann Marie of Bluffton; two daughters, Josephine Delia Flannery Staib of Bluffton and Kathleen Krivan of Bluffton; three sons, Daniel Staib and wife Ann Marie of Bluffton, Michael Francis Staib and wife Kathleen of Centereach Long Island, N.Y., and John William Staib and wife Kathy Ann of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Joel Bladt officiating.

Pallbearers were Daniel Staib, Kevin Krivan, Jody Craft, Dr. Bill Swofford, Johnny Krivan and Lindy Bryan.

Manry-Jordan- Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
