Jerry West, 49, of Blakely, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Early Memorial Hospital.

Mr. West was born in Blakely Jan. 3, 1961, to the late Will Tom Jackson and Ruby L. Jackson. He was a member of Blakely Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Jasper West Jr., Charlie B. West, Wallace Jackson, Randy Jackson and Willie L. Jackson; and one sister, Arline Jackson.

Survivors include one daughter, Jessica West; one son, Nick Upson; 11 sisters, Azzie Williams and husband Willie Jim, Elaine West and Catherine West, all of Blakely, Rosetta West of Jacksonville, Fla., Christine Walker and Catherine Well Jackson, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Pinkie Kerr of Belleglade, Fla., Virginia Jackson, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Bernice Powell and Clementine Jackson, both of North Park, Fla., and Annie Seal of Columbus, Ga.; six brothers, Robert West of Jacksonville, Fla., and James West and wife Larune, all of Blakely, Jessie Jackson of Tampa, Fla., Willie James Jackson and Johnny Jackson, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Rudolph Jackson of Belleglade, Fla.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Dickson officiating. Interment followed at Friendship Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Darrell Ceaser, Willie James Wesley, Willie Williams, Roy Lee, Brandon Williams, Herman Eaford, Richard Williams and Joey Reed.

Peoples Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
