Billy Lester Jackson, 67, of Blakely, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Early Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Jackson was born in Blakely March 4, 1943, to the late J.B. Jackson and Louise Lester Dixon. He was a member of Bethel Church.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Eula Mae Ross; and one nephew, Benjamin Ross.

Survivors include one daughter, Shamida Jackson of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Rodney Igles and wife Alicia of Blakely; five sisters, Janice Dixon, Gloria Lester and husband Charles, all of Blakely, Sara Ricks and husband Roscelle of Damascus, Lillian Dixon and Ellen Dawson, both of Albany; and one brother, Charlie Dixon of Blakely.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Bethel Church with Rev. Ceasor Clark officiating. Interment followed at Dixie Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Roscelle Ricks, Charles Ricks, Eric Ricks, Octavious Ricks, William Ross and Devontay Ricks.

Peoples Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
