Head Start enrollment begins

The Early County Child Development Center will be taking applications for the 2009-10 school year Feb. 2 through Feb. 20 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Early County Child Development Center located at 5038 Freeman Rd.

Those eligible for Head Start are children age three by Sept. 1, 2009, through age five. Head Start is also seeking to enroll children with disablities, children who are emotionally disturbed, mentally challenged, blind or visually impaired, deaf or hearing impaired, physically or otherwise health impaired, requiring special education.

To complete the registration procedure, all applicants are asked to bring the child's certified birth certificate, with file number, Child Care Certificate #3231 (immunization record), Medicaid Card (if feasible), and a copy of family income verification that can be left with the center, proof of income (preferably their 2008 income tax form) or a notarized statement from an employer, a check stub or a W2 form.
