      Deuteronomy 5:1-13, 16-21 When the children of Israel left the land of Egypt (Exodus 12:31- 36), they were not a nation. This looselyheld band of ex-slaves had a common ancestor — Israel (Genesis 32:28) as the means of tying them together. There were tribal leaders who seemed to have no real authority over those who were in their group.

      The good word "good" appears four times in the second chapter of Titus. Again we are reminded to be good for greatness' sake. Before we can do something great for God, before we can aspire to be a great church, we must grasp hold on some good truths and allow them to transform our lives.

      First Methodist The First United Methodist Men will have their annual boston butt sale July 3. Tickets are on sale now. Call 724-8475 for more information. FUMC will also host a ladies summertime luncheon Tuesday, July 7 from 12 p.m. to 1 pm. Pam Grist will be the speaker. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased by July 2.
