Jack Jones II

Musician

Jack Jones II, 57, of Atlanta died Sunday, June 7, 2009, in Atlanta.

Mr. Jones was born in Blakely Sept. 2, 1951, to the late Roosevelt Jones Sr. and Retha Jones. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the band, "The Soul Teachers" with some of his classmates. He worked for several years as a gospel radio host with WBBK.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosa Lee, Mary and Edna; and one brother, A.J.

Survivors include his wife, Trudie Ransom- Jones; four daughters, Lakita Stovall, Felicia Jones, Jacqueline Jones and Janelle Jones, all of Atlanta; 10 siblings, Pearl Sapp, Thelma Gilbert, Mack Arthur Jones and wife Jeanette, Azzie L. Williams, Roosevelt Jones and wife Iris, Willie C. Jones and wife Gladys and Willie Pearl Harris, all of Blakely, Ann C. West and husband Johnny, Louise McCoy of Miami and J.C. Jones of Albany; 12 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 13, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Jerusalem African Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. Kenneth Cody officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Peoples Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
