Marion Kenneth "Kenn" Blankenship, 68, of Colquitt, died M o n d ay, June 8, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Blankenship spent the last 30 years as an entertainer and was nominated to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold S. Blankenship, one brother, Jimmy Blankenship; and one sister.

Survivors include his mother, Cora Mounts Blankenship of New Richmond, Ohio; his wife, Barbara J. Blankenship of Colquitt; one son, Darrin Kenneth Blankenship and wife Ann of Colquitt; one step-son, Wesley Steven Williams of Atlanta; one daughter, Kelly S. Flowers and husband Paul of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one step-daughter, Shea Roberts and husband Billy of Cleveland, Ga.; and three brothers, Dallas Blankenship, Ronald Blankenship and Vernon Blankenship all of New Richmond, Ohio.

Funeral services are today, Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Primitive Union Cemetery.
