John L. Still Sr.
John Louis Still Sr., 77, of Blakely died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Still was born in Early County Oct. 29, 1931, to the late James "Jim" Clarence Still and Clytie Irene Weaver Still. He was a retired farmer and member of Zion Free Will Baptist Church. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Williams Still; three daughters, Susan Denise Waldrop and husband Darrell Harper, Robyn Colleen Elliott and husband Tim of Haleburg, Ala., and Angela Perkins and husband Vince Adams of Blakely; two sons, Johnny Still and wife Mary Ellen of Colquitt and Mark Still and wife Lisa of Blakely; one brother, Clarence Still and wife Sara of Blakely; three sisters, Jeannine Houston of Blakely, Mary Ann Clines of Albany and Virginia Stanley of Martinez, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Jamie Still, Josh Still, Ansley Still, Rusk Still, Jesse Still, Paige Still, Kelsey Elliott, John Jason Elliott, Joanna Waldrop and Tom Waldrop; and four great-grandchildren, Brianna Moore, Madison Still, Kayden Still and Noah Still.
Funeral services were Friday, June 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Zion Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment followed at Sowhatchee Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Still, Tim Still, Mike Still, Grady Durrell, Chip Houston, Todd Stanley, Jamie Still, Josh Still, Rusk Still, Tom Waldrop and John Jason Elliott.
Manry-Jordan- Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
