Edgar Williams

Edgar Powell Williams Sr., 75, of Blakely died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Early Memorial Hospital. Mr. Williams was born in Coweta County Sept. 6, 1933, to the late John Thomas Williams and Era Sorrells Williams. He was the retired security supervisor for Universal Blanchers, Inc. and a member of First United Methodist Church in Blakely. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Moore Williams; one son, Powell Williams Jr. and wife Trisha of Adel; two daughters, Alice W. Fritz and husband Tony of Tyrone, Ga., and Lisa W. Keith and husband Billy of Snellville; one brother, J. Marvin Williams and wife Bobbie of Moreland, Ga.; and one sister-in-law, Willene Williams of Newnan; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Manry-Jordan- Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Turner officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, Ga., at 3 p.m. with Rev. Bill Snell officiating. Pallbearers were Tony Fritz, David Lamb, Billy Keith, Roger Markwell, Buddy Moore and Eric Steir. Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
