The City of Blakely embarked on an ambitious plan to rehab the city's stormwater and sewer lines and build a new wastewater treatment plant 30 years ago under an EPA program which would have paid 75 percent of the cost. Sign thefts prompt $500 reward

Early County Commissioners are getting serious about the increasing problem of road sign theft in the county. At Monday night's board meeting, the commissioners voted to offer a $500 reward for the arrest and conviction of anyone for theft of road signs. More...

The Blakely City Council learned last week methane gas mitigation at the landfill won't carry near the estimated price tag of $650,000. The council learned six new wells and rehab of three existing wells will discharge methane gas and prevent it from entering the water system, at a cost of $67,426.15. More...
