Peanut cook-off planned
      Local businesses are asking citizens to get creative during the Peanut Proud Expo March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Court Square. A peanut cook-off competition will be held at American Peanut Marketing Associates at 210 Court Sqaure at 11 a.m.

Additional help available for unemployed
      State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said that the Georgia Department of Labor has begun mailing an additional $25 per week to more than 180,000 jobless Georgians who have a valid unemployment insurance claim with the Georgia Department of Labor.
