Locals earn honors at Bainbridge College
      Bainbridge College vice president of academic affairs Dr. Mariam Dittmann has announced the students who earned the distinction of being named to the BC dean's list and those named to the honors list for fall semester 2008. Those named to the dean's list must have earned a 3.5 (B+) grade point average or higher while attending BC full-time.

Head Start enrollment begins
      The Early County Child Development Center will be taking applications for the 2009-10 school year Feb. 2 through Feb. 20 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Early County Child Development Center located at 5038 Freeman Rd. Those eligible for Head Start are children age three by Sept. 1, 2009, through age five.

Anderson named Teacher of the Year
      Kenya "Kim" Anderson of Blakely was named Teacher of the Year at Randolph County Elementary School in Cuthbert. Kenya was awarded at the Teacher of the Year banquet Nov. 18 at Andrew College. The award was given by the Randolph County Board of Education and presented by Larry Callaway, principal, and Bobby Jenkins, superintendent.

      University of Georgia The University of Georgia has announced the names of undergraduate students who achieved the dean's list for fall semester. Students named to the dean's list have earned a 3.5 grade point average or higher out of a possible 4.0.
