Jewell Holder Johnson Mowrey, 93, of Blakely died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Early Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Mowrey was born in Early County Oct. 19, 1914, to the late Jessie Clarence Holder and Hallie Perry Holder. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blakely and she was very active in the Blakely Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Flint Mowrey and Robley Johnson; and three brothers, Curtis Holder, Clarence Holder and Sherman Holder.

Survivors include three sons, Norman Johnson and wife Merlyn of Spring Hill, Fla., Arnold Johnson and wife Janyce of Peachtree City, Ga. and Lamar Johnson and wife Doris of Dallas, Ga.; one step-son, John Mowrey and wife Lucy of Las Cruces, N.M.; one nephew Keith Holder of McKenny, Texas; Six grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Manry- Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pine Lawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home.

Manry-Jordan-Hodges is in charge of arrangements.
