General Primary absentee voting General Primary absentee votes can be cast now in the Voter Registrar's office on River Street. To cast an absentee ballot voters need a reason, such as a religious holiday, a disability or a public safety job. Absentee voters are also required to show one of six valid forms of ID. Absentee ballots are also avail- able via mail. Voters casting absentee ballots by mail don't need to give a reason. Voters can request absentee ballot applications by mail, online and over the telephone. Once they send in the completed applications, they'll get their absentee ballots. Once filled out and mailed in, those ballots will be counted after polls close at 7 p.m. July 15.
Advance voting will be held the week of July 7-11. Voters may choose Republican or Democrat ballots in the General Primary.
