COLLEGE NEWS Georgia Tech Grant Bruner made the dean's list for spring semester 2008 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Undergraduate students earning a 3.00 or higher academic average for the semester gain the distinction of being named to the dean's list at Georgia Tech. University of West Georgia The University of West Georgia held commencement ceremonies for the spring semester May 10 on campus. Approximately 781 fall graduates earned degrees. Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, UWG president, approved degrees for 607 undergraduates and 174 graduate students. Receiving a degree from Blakely was Erica Shandrell McCoy with a BSED in early childhood education. Tonja Bridges recently completed graduation requirements for a master's degree in postsecondary education from Troy University Albany. She is a 1985 graduate of Early County High School and a 1989 graduate of the University of Georgia. Tonja is employed at Early County High School as a family and consumer sciences teacher where she also serves as a chapter advisor for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. Tonja is married to Chas Bridges of Damascus. They have three daughters, Madison, Logan and Sutton.
