Non-partisan qualifying period is June 23-27 Qualifying for non-partisan candidates who will appear on the Nov. 4 General Election ballot will be held the week of June 23-27. Among those who will qualify non-partisan for the November General Election include: Board of Education District 1 (William Davis), District 2 (Phyllis Craft) and District 5 (at-large, Ronnie Ashley): Probate Judge (Tonya Holley); State Court Judge (Tom Baxley); Pataula District Attorney to replace Charles Ferguson; and Pataula Superior Court Judge (Ronnie Joe Lane). Absentee votes can be cast now in the Voter Registrar's office on River Street. To cast an absentee ballot the voters will need a reason, such as a religious holiday, a disability or a public safety job. Absentee voters will also be required to show one of six valid forms of ID. Absentee ballots are also available via mail. Voters casting absentee ballots by mail don't need to give a reason. Voters can request absentee ballot applications by mail, online and over the telephone. Once they send in the completed applications, they'll get their absentee ballots. Once filled out and mailed in, those ballots will be counted after polls close at 7 p.m. July 15. Voters may choose Republican or Democrat ballots in the General Primary.
Advance voting will be held the week of July 7-11. The deadline for voters to register to vote in the July 15 General Primary is June 16.
